Halfway to the next stretch goal!! Bravo everyone.
over 1 year ago – Tue, Sep 17, 2019 at 04:04:11 PM

Just wanted to say thanks for getting us exactly half-way to the Vinyl Rollerskull sticker. Keep doing what you're doing. The more we raise the more bounty for everyone.

After sending off the next round of packages I'm switching to doing commissions for the rest of the week. Though there are no new one's available in the current campaign they'll maybe make a comeback in future, once I've finished drawing stuff like this for backers

Delirium is coloured and sent off but Jonah Hex is still work in progress. I really enjoy drawing and painting these. Backers come up with some great ideas and it gets me exploring themes or characters outside my comfort zone. Consequently, it's a great way to learn, and that's what being an artist is all about. Drawing is essentially an excuse to look at and consider the world, and then describe it in your own language or style. It's easy to get hung up on the end product, but the process itself has many meditative and educational qualities.  Some artists are blessed with incredible style and talent, and the rest of us have to work at it. It's a journey which never ends and one which I'm grateful to be on.

I love a bit of Arthurian Legend, the sword in the stone, Excalibur (not the same thing), the fact that one of the Knights of the Round Table was black (Sir Morien, the moor), Merlin's magical chicanery and of course Morgana or Morgan Le Fay, who started out in legend as a kind of magical protector and saviour of King Arthur despite her subsequent bad press. I've got a whole comic inspired by Arthurian legend which I might bring out one distant day, so I was excited to see Le Fay 1 on here and checked it out immediately.

Le Fay updates the concept to a modern urban setting by asking what Jessica Jones would be like if she happened to be a powerful Fay sorceress.  Good question. From there the comic imagines that after a battle with Merlin, Le Fay woke up powerless in the modern world. Determined to get her powers back she sets up as a PI for the Fay World to solve the mystery of what happened to her.

Art is by Miguel Angel Ruiz and writing by Marcel Dupree and Joshua Mertzger, and there are lots of cool Arthurian themed levels to choose from.

Nice! You can find more here. http://kck.st/2ztqOAN

Don't forget to share our social media goal too. Only takes a moment, and it'll really help a lot. https://twitter.com/montynero/status/1169573593665232896?s=20

Just 30 hours left to get Samurai of Oz!
over 1 year ago – Mon, Sep 16, 2019 at 09:28:35 PM

Sometimes a concept just sells itself and so it is with Samurai of Oz! Picture a manga Dorothy and her giant wolf Toto trapped in a dark mythical Feudal Japan world of Oz! Inspired by anime such as Ninja Scroll and Vampire Hunter D, Dorothy finds ninjas, demons and ghosts assailing her at every turn!

This is issue 2 brought to you by Ron Zabala, creator of several successful Kickstarter comics, so you know it'll deliver. And check out the awesome sequential artwork drawn by Santa Fung and coloured by  Alessia Nocera.

There's also a dizzying array of rewards like black and white variants, a scroll, and a wood diorama, depending on the depth of your pockets.

 Check it out here. http://kck.st/2Pg7zWq

2 weeks to go!!! And Virus is Live!
over 1 year ago – Mon, Sep 16, 2019 at 02:55:49 PM

Two weeks left to go and we need you more than ever. This is the doldrum phase of any campaign, where the tumbleweeds of lethargy can smother campaigning to a stall. Only YOU can make a difference, by backing, or telling a pal, or sharing the news via Facebook or twitter.  Can we reach 300 backers? Can we hit the social media stretch goal? (Just retweet this tweet to add a bonus sticker to every print order when we pass 100 RT's.)  The answer's in your hands.

We've got one, just ONE, Mega Ben Oliver reward left. It's the perfect reward for both a new  or seasoned reader looking for a copy of the whole story with some unique and very rare collectables and cover variants. Look at all the awesome stuff it contains.

Meanwhile, elsewhere on KS, I'm looking forward to the mighty Virus 4: Endgame by Patrick Cornelis http://kck.st/2I4z92D It's a visceral horror-sci fi with some fantastic artwork. Check it out.

Sick! This is the 4th part, so you know Patrick will deliver, and there are some great rewards on offer including original art, a sketchbook and magic cards.

Patrick describes it as "an epic final confrontation between the magical celestial beings, the hordes of zombies and Warlock, his team and a rogue military organization. Is there still hope for victory or is all hope lost against the seemingly invincible celestial Saren, who has now merged with the essence of her sister Birr’chonna, commanding billions of zombies all over the world, along with her three minions."

Everyone knows the best comics involve a deadly futuristic virus. You know what to do!

200% funded! Third stretchgoal! And Deborah Daring!
over 1 year ago – Sun, Sep 15, 2019 at 07:21:30 PM

Thank you all so much for getting us to 200%, unlocking two more stretch goals on the way!

As you can see the third reward will be a rollerskull vinyl sticker, which is the kind of sick graphic perfect for enhancing whatever skateboard, snowboard or amp you wish you had!  Consider the sticker a down payment on the lifestyle of your dreams!

With two weeks to go there's a lot more bounty to be unlocked. Not to mention, four of the greatest comics you'll ever read. Check out the reviews on our page for the full meaty details. http://kck.st/2ZIzhii

Meanwhile, let me flag up another fine comic on here - none other than Deborah Daring.

This is a detective story about a  tough, sexy paralegal who gets embroiled with the Russian mafia. It's got some sweet visuals, and is on its sixth issue, which is always a good sign.  Brought you by the deadly team of Rockin' Rob Mack (writer), Jazzy Jae Korim (artist) and Dangerous Dennis Lehmann (colours),  you can check out all the rewards on offer right here. http://kck.st/2zDc8iL

Till next time.
